our story
We bought our homestead in the Fall of 2016, after leaving the big house and "city life" behind. Our new home consisted of a modest house on 8 wooded acres in the mountains. The homestead started with some small organic gardens. Our first flock of chickens came home in the summer of 2017. Our very first goat joined the homestead in May of 2018. By 2021 we had 11 goats, a flock of Blackbelly sheep, 16 chickens, and 9 ducks!
At the close of 2022, we sold our beloved 8 acre homestead in Blount County, TN and moved to just over 25 acres in Campbell County, Tennessee near the KY border. This new homestead will be a labor of love for many years to come, but we hope to make this our forever home.
Our goal at Narrow Path Homestead is to raise quality animals as naturally as possible. Our herd is managed using organic and non-gmo feeds as well as herbal dewormers and remedies.
We have plans to become an ADGA Plus herd in the very near future, which will include DHIR milk testing and Linear Appraisal. More details on that coming soon!
Currently enrolled in the Dairy Goat Producer certification program with Langston University.
